3rd Mediteranean Championships in Orienteering - Long Distance (23.02.2014)

Good route to control 2 but green from dotch to control was horrible brambles and very very slow. Rock was v slippery so took safer route round it to control 4. Navigating well to 7. Then disaster - emormous parallel error. Bearing from 7 to path, did not see the path junction right next to me, checked compass and ran SE to path junction and turned right. Arrived at wall end and yellow field and turned right and nothing fitted. I saw at least 4 other people in this area. I have never run off the map before! Decided to go back as no idea where I was. 12th place :-(
